Description: The Full Day Nature Llama Trek is an educational and cultural experience with special emphasis on enjoying nature. The visitor will become familiar with the Llama Pack Project, meet members of the Guild of Llama Breeders of the Urubamba Mountain Range and walk with their llamas along the river, through native forests, learning about the benefits of using llamas as pack animals and their importance for the conservation of mountain ecosystems. The visit includes an Andean style llama trek accompanied by the llama farmers. Passengers help to herd the group of llamas as they walk in front carrying the lunch that will be shared when arriving at the rest station.

Duration: 6 – 7 hours. Difficulty: Medium / High. Start time: 9:00 a.m. Trekking distance: 10.4 k.m. (6.4 miles) Altitude: 3,125 – 3,678 meters 10,250 – 12,064 feet) Starting point: Llama Pack Base Camp, Pumahuanca Valley, Urubamba.

Included: Snack: Fruit, energy bar and refill water (passenger must bring bottle). Picnic: Tasting of typical Andean hot stone cooking with 3 varieties of native potatoes, local tubers and legumes, sweet potato and corn according to seasonal availability, chicken, traditional sauce, coca tea and sweet.  Bilingual interpreter (Spanish/English). Llama guild hosts. Trek with llamas. First aid kit.
