

















High-Andean Excursion
Description: The high-Andean excursion is an educational and cultural visit with special emphasis on the Andean landscape and the lifestyle of the llama farmers. The passenger will cross the Andes to reach one of the partner communities of the project where they will be received by members of the Guild of Llama Breeders and will learn about the benefits of using llamas as pack animals and the challenges they face while traveling through the beautiful landscapes of the community accompanied by their hosts and the llamas that will be herded in the typical Andean style.
* Heights and distances may vary depending on the community visited. The program will be chosen based on the profile of the passengers and the rotating system of the communities.
Duration: 9 – 10 hours. Difficulty: Medium / High. Start time: 7:00 a.m. Approximate trekking distance: 4 k.m. (2.48 miles) *Approximate Altitudes: 3,950 – 4,200 meters (12,956 – 13,776 feet) Starting point: Pick up in Sacred Valley. Activity can be done in Maucau, Cuncani, Quishuarani or Huacahuasi.
Included: Round-trip transportation from Sacred Valley. Breakfast: Bread, cheese and coca tea. Snack: Fruit, cookie or energy bar, water.
