This program combines activities based on teaching environmental education to local children through games and art activities and implementing an infrastructure project that is needed by the community, local school or Guild of Llama Breeders.

*This program may be designed in 18 days to add a pause and cultural activities in the urban area between the Education Program activities and the Infrastructure Program activities.

Our Base Camp is at the Llama Pack House which is located in Urubamba town in the center of the Sacred Valley of the Incas at 1.5 hours from Cusco airport. The house is located in an urban area and has access to all main services. (Electricity, running water, sewage system, phone signal, internet.)

The service part of the program is carried out in the high-Andean communities partnered with the Llama Pack Project. Accommodation in the communities is in a camping site.These communities are located in rural areas where basic services are limited.

Included:

Transportation to and from Cusco Airport – Llama Pack Base Camp.
Transportation to and from high-Andean Community.
All meals except on free days where group may choose between lunch or dinner.
Accommodation at Llama Pack House and camping fees.
Llama Pack Project instructors.
3 cultural activities + Llama Trek.
Program materials.
Machu Picchu Day Tour (Train tickets + Box Lunch + Entrance + Guide).

Not Included:

Flight tickets.
Insurance.
Personal camping equipment: Tent, sleeping bag, mat.
Optional cultural or outdoor activity on free day.

Suggested personal camping equipment for best comfort:

4 season tent.
Sleeping bag for -7ºC.
Inflatable mat.
(Local rentals are available and can be coordinated.)

Packing:

A trekking backpack for all packed gear and an extra lightweight personal backpack which will be useful to have personal items handy at all times.

Clothing:

Comfortable and layered clothes for the outdoors including fresh long sleeved shirt, long pants, closed waterproof trekking shoes, extra pair of shoes, fleece jacket, cold weather jacket, gloves, scarf, beanie and rainproof clothes.

Essentials:

Personal medicine and basic first aid kit including medicine for stomach discomfort.
Sunscreen and sun protection such as long sleeved shirts, sunglasses, full rim hat.
Personal water bootle. (Optional UV filter.)
Bug repellant.

This program is available all year round except on local school vacations. Please contact us for specific dates.

Summer vacation:
Last week of December until first week of March.

Winter vacation:
2 weeks between July and August.

Bimester vacations:
1 week on May.
1 week on October.
